ABOUT PRODUCTID 5037
This French jewelry box from the late 19th century is crafted from faceted crystal glass, set in ornate gilded brass mounts. The construction rests on four cabriole-style legs adorned with vegetal and scroll motifs, typical of the late Victorian or Belle Époque period. The clear, cool-toned crystal refracts light, highlighting the refined details of the metalwork. Decorative beading borders the brass frame, while the hinged lid closes with a small, ornamental clasp. Inside, remnants of the original silk tapestry lining remain, with a soft, gently textured surface. The box is preserved in very good antique condition, with minor scratches on the glass and areas of wear and patina on the brass, but without major damage or evidence of repair; all elements appear original. This piece echoes the ambiance of Parisian salons at the close of the 19th century, where daily rituals were elevated by an attention to detail. The crystal facets reflect light like miniature mirrors, while the softly patinated gilt brass tells the story of past eras—times when even small objects held sentimental value and were kept with care. The faded silk lining quietly hints at previous owners and their private moments, turning this petite box into a silent witness to personal histories. The jewelry box can be displayed on a dressing table in a class
