ABOUT PRODUCTID 1776
This oriental jewelry chest from Japan, dating to the Shōwa era (early 20th century), is crafted from wood coated with a layer of lacquer in a deep cinnabar red. The front is adorned with finely hand-painted gold motifs, depicting two larks in flight among bamboo stalks and leaves—a balanced composition characteristic of Japanese decorative arts. The fittings—ornate hinges, a central round lock plate, and the drawer pull—are made of patinated copper and brass, their aged surfaces emphasizing the collectible nature of the piece.
