This late 19th-century jewelry tray embodies the spirit of Rococo Revival, representing the refined craftsmanship of the Historicism era. Crafted from silver-plated white metal, the piece features a matte, silvery surface with natural wear, revealing warm golden-bronze undertones, especially on raised ornamental details and edges. The form is built on four elaborately scrolled feet, supporting an asymmetrical, shield-shaped backplate that alludes to a stylized clock face. Ornate vegetal motifs, garlands, and a finely modeled full-relief cherub (putto) enhance the composition— the cherub stands at the center, one hand raised to its ear in a listening gesture. The tray itself is shallow, integrated into the base and suited for rings, brooches, or small chains, while a subtle hook at the top allows for hanging a delicate pendant or necklace. The condition is good for its age, with visible signs of use typical for an object of this period: worn silver plating, a uniform antique patina, and minor surface abrasions, but no significant damage or repairs.
