ABOUT PRODUCTID 5969
This ceramic jug, designed by Svend Aage Jensen for Søholm in Denmark, dates from the 1960s. Its form features a tall, cylindrical silhouette with a gently flared spout and a robust, organically integrated handle. The upper part is covered in a glossy, deep caramel-brown glaze, smoothly transitioning into a darker, chocolate brown band. In contrast, the lower section is finished with a matte, tactile vertical striation in ochre and beige tones, creating a wood-like effect that stands out against the lustrous top. The base is signed “Soholm, Denmark, Stentoj.” The piece exemplifies Danish modernism, focusing on simplicity, functionality, and the honest beauty of natural materials. There are no visible damages, chips, or signs of restoration; the glaze remains even and well-preserved. The overall condition is very good, with an authentic patina appropriate for its age. The jug carries the quiet voice of 196
