This ceramic jug by the Italian manufactory Nuovo Rinascimento was made in the 1960s and is signed on its underside. Its construction is distinguished by classical, balanced proportions—a wide, rounded body, gently flared neck, and stable base indicating thoughtful design. The upper and central sections, including the robustly curved handle and relief band, are coated in a lustrous turquoise-green glaze. In contrast, the lower body and neck feature a warm white glaze with delicate, hand-applied vertical striations, adding a tactile layer to the surface. The most striking detail is the wide raised relief encircling the jug’s midsection, composed of stylized floral and geometric motifs that revisit Renaissance ornamentation through the mid-century modern lens.
