ABOUT PRODUCTID 21951
This Art Nouveau brass kettle, crafted around 1900 in Germany, is a testament to the refined craftsmanship of the Jugendstil era. The body, nearly spherical with softly rounded lines and an elegantly tapered spout, is finished in highly polished, golden brass that creates a mirror-like, luminous surface. Distinctive details define the piece: the handle and lid finial are made of red ebonite, introducing a subtly matte and striking color accent that contrasts with the gleaming metal. The kettle rests on a light, openwork stand made from flat brass strips ending in spherical feet, with an integrated brass spirit burner below. The construction reflects the influence of the Arts and Crafts movement, effortlessly blending practical function with decorative intent. The condition is very good, with only minor surface scratches and light patina, free from major damage or restoration. All components appear original. This kettle tells the tale of the early twentieth century, when Art Nouveau found inspiration in nature and organic forms. Its flowing curves, the warm glow of brass, and the subtle contrast of red ebonite recall the atmosphere of bourgeois parlors at the turn of the century, where art enriched everyday life. The reflective surface catches light like an antique mirror, while the matte ebonite handle suggests that even the smallest detail was intentional. It is an object that “remembers” morning teas and the gentle hum of conversation—created to serve, but also to delight the eye.The kettle would be at home in a space inspired by classic Art Nouveau or in a collector’s interior
