This early 20th-century key tray, made in Poland, exemplifies Art Nouveau metalwork. Crafted from pewter with a thin layer of brass plating, it takes the form of a large, detailed leaf with deeply sculpted veins, undulating edges, and irregular, organic contours. The surface presents a muted, patinated bronze with subtle greenish and warm brown discolorations characteristic of aged metal. On the most raised areas, the brass plating has worn away, revealing the cooler silvery hue of the pewter beneath, enhancing the depth and organic character of the form.
