This vintage Turkish kilim, handwoven in the 1960s, exemplifies the flat-weave technique characteristic of Anatolian craftsmanship. Made from wool – likely with cotton warps – the rug showcases a warm, earthy palette: browns, beiges, ochre, cream, black, and grey form the base, while geometric and zigzag stripes introduce visual dynamism. Accents of purple, deep red, magenta, orange, yellow, and white enliven the composition and highlight its bohemian and folkloric origins. The rectangular format (163 x 242 cm) features alternating horizontal bands, some solid and others richly patterned.
