This French ladies' writing desk, dating to circa 1900, exemplifies Louis XV Revival furniture craftsmanship. The structure is crafted from walnut in a warm, medium brown hue with a semi-gloss finish that accentuates the natural grain. The top is edged with lighter wood marquetry and features a black leather writing surface, bordered with gold tooling for a refined contrast. The desk stands on slender, cabriole legs finished with bronze sabots, and decorative gilt-bronze mounts with floral rococo motifs adorn the corners, drawers, and handles. The upper section includes two small drawers and an open compartment, crowned with a brass gallery and a marble slab in cream and beige tones. Drawer interiors reveal meticulous dovetail joinery.
