The medical infrared UV lamp by Quarzlampen Markleeberg, manufactured in Germany in the 1960s, is an example of functionalism in the spirit of Space Age and mid-century modern design. Its construction is defined by a signature conical shade made from perforated white-painted sheet metal with a matte finish. Elongated black ventilation slots encircle the lower section of the shade, providing both visual rhythm and practical airflow. The white metal head is mounted on a geometric base crafted from bent steel rod finished in black. The structure is complemented by a black Bakelite handle and a porcelain bulb socket—details that reflect a commitment to durability and user comfort. The original manufacturer's label remains intact on the underside. With dimensions of 20 cm height, 27 cm width, and 20 cm depth, the lamp features smooth tilt adjustment for the shade. It comes with the original UV/infrared bulb (E27 socket) but can accommodate a standard bulb as well.
