This ceramic lion figurine, produced by the French manufacture Saint Clement in the 1930s, embodies the essence of Art Deco and high-quality European ceramic craftsmanship. Made from clay and covered with a delicate, pale pink glaze with subtle beige undertones, it reflects the characteristic color palette of 1930s ceramics. The glossy, slightly crackled surface accentuates the simplified geometric lines of the lion's body and the stylized mane and leaf motifs on the plinth. The proportions are elongated and balanced, resting on a stable, rectangular base. The figure is signed with the maker's mark ('StC') and design number 989-9. A small glaze flake is visible on the reverse side of the base; the front remains unmarred. The figure is in very good condition, showing only a minor trace of time on the back of the base.
