The “cactus” liqueur set, designed by Trey Gott for the American glassworks Blenko in Milton in 1995, comprises a decanter and six glasses, all hand-formed from multicolored glass. The 35 cm tall decanter features an organic, cactus-inspired silhouette, with integrated clear glass hooks around its body to suspend the miniature mug-shaped glasses (4.5 cm high, 3.6 cm diameter). The set is crafted from thick glass, vertically ribbed for a tactile, gently undulating texture. The standout feature is a dramatic color gradient: deep cobalt blue at the neck, shifting into vibrant green at the base, topped with a teardrop-shaped stopper echoing the green hue. The glasses present a glossy, transparent surface in a palette of clear red, blue, and green. All bases are smoothly polished, and the integration of elements is seamless. The set is preserved in very good condition, with no chips, cracks, or visible wear; all parts are original.This set speaks to the creative freedom of the 1990s, when studio glass embraced new approaches to color and form.
