ABOUT PRODUCTID 19510
An original color lithograph by Boris O’Klein created in France during the mid-20th century, this work exemplifies the mid-century modern style with its distinctly narrative, comic flair. Numbered 68/150 and hand-signed in pencil by the artist, the print depicts a row of six dogs—each of a different breed—captured in anthropomorphic, whimsical poses. The horizontal composition emphasizes a sense of movement, while expressive gestures and facial features draw the viewer in. A palette of muted pastels and earthy tones is punctuated by vibrant details of red, blue, green, and yellow, imparting individuality to each animal. The almost entirely white, minimalist background highlights the figures, lending a sense of airiness, while the matte finish and watercolor-like washes contribute delicate shading and softness. The lithograph is presented in a later wooden frame with a textured beige linen surround and a subtle single-line passepartout. Preserved in very good condition, the print’s colors remain vivid, with no signs of damage or restoration, and the frame shows only minor, age-appropriate wear.
