This Western European commode, dating from the early 20th century, is crafted from warm, honey-brown wood with a subtle satin sheen, complemented by darker reddish-brown accents framing the piece. A substantial white marble top with soft grey veining and a gently serpentine front edge crowns the structure. The front doors feature oval medallions with intricate floral marquetry in lighter and darker wood tones, surrounded by decorative gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts, which also adorn the corners, apron, and cabriole feet in the form of acanthus leaves and rococo motifs.
