ABOUT PRODUCTID 1658
This late 19th-century photo frame in the form of a lyre originates from the Austro-Hungarian Empire, dated between 1870 and 1890, and exemplifies the ornate character of mature Biedermeier design. Its construction features finely guilloché, gilded brass, covered with white enamel in a slightly creamy shade and finished with a subtle satin sheen. The front is richly adorned with engraved floral and geometric motifs, while cabochon turquoise stones and glass gems in saturated red and blue are symmetrically set along the lyre's arms and base. The photo aperture is elliptical, framed with a twisted brass edging and protected by glass. At the back, a sturdy, hinged brass support allows the frame to stand securely on a tabletop. All original decorative elements remain intact; the frame shows minor, natural traces of patina and gentle wear to the gilding, typical for its age
