This original hand-colored copperplate engraving by Christophe Tassin, published in Paris in 1633, depicts the Brabant region in the historical Netherlands. The central graphic (15 × 10.5 cm) features delicate hand coloring—soft olive green, lemon yellow, muted pink, and bleached sepia—set against the lightly patinated surface typical of 17th-century maps. The upper section boasts a classical cartouche with hues of lavender, gold, and brown, reinforcing the antique character. The map is presented in a wide olive-green matte and a slender golden frame from the 1960s; the frame displays subtle distressing, exposing a reddish underlayer in places, for a refined matte sheen. Structural details include mitered corners, a protective glass pane, and flat, even mounting giving the composition stately proportion. The map shows only minor signs of age: slight yellowing to the paper and sporadic surface wear on the frame, with no significant damage or evidence of intervention. It is preserved in very good condition, displaying clear marks of authenticity.
