This hand-carved Mayura Raksha mask from Sri Lanka, dating to before 1890, exemplifies the depth of Sinhalese folk art infused with ritualistic significance. Created from wood, the mask presents a multi-layered composition enriched by a glossy, vibrant palette of bright yellow, fiery red, deep black, white, and accents of green.
