ABOUT PRODUCTID 12569
This decanter from the 1950s, produced at the renowned Kamenický Šenov glassworks in former Czechoslovakia, exemplifies mid-century modern decorative glass. Its body is crafted from frosted glass in a nuanced, cool lavender-blue shade. The matte, satin-like surface exudes a restrained palette, which is accented by three broad, glossy gold bands placed rhythmically at the upper, middle, and lower parts of the vessel. A gently tapering base and softly rounded shoulders harmonize with the solid frosted-glass stopper, whose fluid rounded shape echoes the decanter’s overall line. Thin gold bands also outline the foot and tip of the stopper, highlighting the thoughtful craftsmanship. The glass is free from visible damage, with only minor surface marks consistent with age – the piece is well preserved, without losses and with its decorative elements intact. This decanter evokes the spirit of the 1950s, reflecting an era when Czechoslovak applied arts embraced subtle luxury and glassmakers like Kamenický Šenov delivered objects of contemporary refinement. Its lavender-blue tone recalls the gentle light of dawn spreading across a quiet lake, while the gold accents mark out the rhythm of daily ritual – from morning table settings to evening toasts. The object channels a voice of its era, speaking of modernity shaped by an attention to detail and transforming everyday moments into quiet ceremony. The decanter can be featured on a low sideboard or console in a living room, allowing the natural light to reveal its matte
