This tall, cylindrical vase was designed in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s by Vaclav Hanus and crafted from pressed glass. The cool, translucent light blue color features a notable gradient—intensifying at the base and gradually lightening towards the top. The exterior is richly textured with a molded pattern emulating tree bark: vertical grooves and irregularities give it an organic, tactile character, while the interior remains smooth. The glossy glass finish accentuates both clarity and depth, and the slender proportions allow the piece to function equally as a utilitarian vessel and a sculptural accent. The vase is preserved in very good condition, showing no visible signs of damage, cracks, or chips; no evidence of restoration is present.The form speaks to the narrative of Czechoslovak modernism—a translation of natural motifs into glass.
