This miniature mantel clock, crafted in Germany in the 1920s, features a compact oak wood case in a medium to dark brown shade with a subtly reddish undertone. The matte to semi-matte finish accentuates the natural grain and gentle texture of the oak. The clock’s rectangular body is topped with a profiled, arched crest and a circular decorative motif, echoing the historicist and traditionalist styles of the early 20th century. The front is framed by vertical fluted moldings and a nickel-plated metal bezel with a beaded edge, holding a white enameled dial with black Arabic numerals and black metal hands. Below the dial, a beveled glass window reveals an octagonal brass pendulum. The mechanism is key-wound (with key included) and remains in working condition. The construction demonstrates precise joinery and meticulous attention to finishing details. The clock is preserved in very good condition, showing only minor signs of age such as slight wear to the wood finish and a subtle patina on the metal elements, with no major damage or signs of restoration.
