This miniature photo frame, crafted in Austria around 1900, embodies the mature Rococo style characteristic of late 19th and early 20th century European decorative arts. Made from repoussé brass that has been both silvered and gilded, the frame displays a warm, muted antique gold hue with subtle silvery highlights and deeper patina in the recessed areas. The front is adorned with an asymmetrical, richly sculpted Rococo ornament: scrolls, floral, and leafy motifs compose a dynamic arrangement typical of the decorative exuberance of the era. The oval photo window is bordered by a smooth, slightly raised rim, providing a visual contrast to the highly textured and ornate outer section. The construction features a movable, integrated stand at the back for tabletop display, while the glass front protects a photograph measuring 3 x 2 cm. Compact in form (7.4 cm high, 5.5 cm wide, 5 cm deep), the frame remains in very good condition—only minor age-related darkening and patina are visible, with no damage or alterations to the original structure.
