ABOUT PRODUCTID 36148
This early 20th-century miniature porcelain furniture set comprises three chairs and a table, representing a refined example of small-scale decorative arts inspired by the Louis Philippe era. Each piece is crafted from fine white porcelain with a lustrous glaze, accented by underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The edges are adorned with the distinctive ‘onion pattern’ (Zwiebelmuster), providing a crisp contrast to the porcelain’s cool white. The chair backs feature a delicate lattice motif, while the table top and the seats and backs of the chairs are hand-painted with miniature Dutch landscapes—sailing boats and trees rendered in cool blue tones. The forms are highly ornamental: cabriole legs, scalloped edges, and pierced openwork backs evoke the decorative spirit of 19th-century European applied arts. The porcelain is smooth, finely finished, and free from visible wear or damage. The set is preserved in very good condition—complete and without losses. This miniature salon echoes the cultured parlors of a bygone era, narrating a story of times when attention to detail and painterly skill elevated even the smallest objects. The porcelain chairs and table might tell tales of homes where sunlight filtered through
