This miniature travel alarm clock, crafted in Germany at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, exemplifies meticulous precision and the utilitarian craftsmanship of its era. Its compact, square case features gently rounded edges and is made from brass, finished with highly polished, cool-toned chrome that creates a bright, mirror-like surface with a subtle bluish sheen. The front is dominated by a convex glass lens protecting the white dial, which carries a faint, time-softened patina and is encircled by a slim gold ring. The numerals, rendered in a geometric Art Deco style, are bold and black, matching the short, sturdy hour and minute hands and the thinner alarm hand. The simple, functional handle on top echoes the chrome finish of the case, while the back reveals the manufacturer's signature. The construction is seamless from the front, showing no visible screws or fasteners, and the clock retains its original components and finish without traces of restoration. It features a manual wind-up movement and an alarm function.
