This mocha cup and saucer set, produced in Austria between 1820 and 1840, is a refined example of Biedermeier porcelain art. Crafted from thin, crisp white porcelain, it features a subtle glossy sheen and is hand-painted with vivid cobalt blue arabesque and geometric motifs. These ornate patterns are complemented by small gold leaf details and further gilded accents, lending the set a sense of cultivated luxury. The cup's handle is fully gilded and sculpted in the elaborate Biedermeier manner, while the entire interior of the cup is richly coated in mirror-like gold. The matching saucer presents a scalloped rim and a central marbled gold medallion, highlighted by additional gold decoration along the edge. Both pieces are exceptionally well-preserved, with no visible damage or repairs; their gilding and painted embellishments remain vibrant and intact.
