ABOUT PRODUCTID 19258
This Limoges B & Co mocha cup and saucer set, produced around 1900, exemplifies French neoclassical tradition associated with the Napoleon III era. Crafted in fine, thin porcelain, the piece displays a deep, cool-toned cobalt blue enamel covering the exterior of both the cup and saucer. The main decorative motif is a broad, matte-gold frieze of laurel leaves, encircling the rim of the cup and the border of the saucer, evoking the formal language of late 19th-century French design. The cup’s interior and the well of the saucer are fully coated in a mirrored, lustrous gold, adding refined brilliance. The squared handle and base edge are adorned with satiny gold, with hand-applied finish details evident upon closer inspection. Cylindrical in form, refined in proportion, and discreetly geometric in its handle, the set carries the L. Bernardaud FRANCE signature, used from 190
