ABOUT PRODUCTID 30757
This modular shelving unit, designed by František Jirák, exemplifies Czechoslovak mid-century design from the late 1960s and early 1970s, drawing clear inspiration from Scandinavian traditions and the Mid-Century Modern movement. The structure is primarily wood—likely veneered particleboard or plywood—with a warm, honey-toned finish. The lower cabinet features sliding doors in a darker, reddish-brown wood veneer with vertical grain, providing visual depth and contrast, while the upper display section is fitted with glass sliding doors framed in wood. The unit’s proportions are airy and balanced, set on four slender, angled legs characteristic of the era, and accented with round wooden knobs in a matching light tone. The arrangement combines open shelves above with closed storage below. Signs of use are visible—scratches, minor dents, and wear to the finish, especially at the edges and legs—but there is no major structural damage.
