ABOUT PRODUCTID 1913
This vase, designed by Stanisław Mach under the artistic direction of Jan Sylwester Drost, is a fine example of 1970s Polish glass design, produced by HSG 'Ząbkowice' in Dąbrowa Górnicza. Hand-formed from soda-lime glass, the elongated form features a gently tapering neck and rounded base, lending the piece a subtle mid-century modern character. The mozaic pattern is dominated by deep amber-brown tones, interwoven with swirling bands of white, cream, and delicate yellow accents. Its smooth, glossy finish enhances the richness and fluid transitions of color, resulting in a cohesive, refined visual impression. The vase measures 21 cm in height and 9 cm in diameter. It remains in excellent vintage condition, with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of wear. This piece encapsulates the spirit of Polish applied arts in the 1970s—a time when designers sought a balance between utility and expressive materiality. The mozaic motif seems to ripple across the surface like shifting light, while the warm, saturated hues evoke amber-lit afternoons and a sense of optimism distinctive to the era. The slender profile and organic lines recall a craft philosophy that allowed glass to narrate its own story—of motion, luminosity, and fleeting emotion. The vase may be displayed atop a low sideboard or shelving in the living room, where its bold coloration contrasts with a pale background or highlights natural materials. It works well as a stand-alone sculptural accent, yet can also be paired with neutral ceramics or minimalist glassware to emphasize its decorative nature
