This mother and child figurine, signed 'Rodin', is a small decorative sculpture inspired by the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, echoing the Art Deco movement with clear references to Art Nouveau and expressive realism. The composition depicts two nude figures in an intimate embrace, seated on a rugged, textured base of dark stone—marble or granite—with a matte finish and subtle white veining. The bodies are modelled with a deep, reddish bronze patina, their polished surfaces highlighting anatomical detail and fluid, organic lines. The harmonious proportions and naturalistic approach are characteristic of the era’s search for new forms. The signature 'Rodin' suggests inspiration from Auguste Rodin’s sculptural language, though it does not confirm authorship. The sculpture is in good condition, with minor scratches and a gentle patina commensurate with age, and shows no visible repairs or significant damage. This figure embodies the spirit of a transformative era—an age where emotion and familial intimacy found sculptural expression. The flowing, tactile lines speak in the idiom of the Belle Époque, while the burnished bronze surface catches the light as if narrating moments of tenderness and dynamic movement. Its presence invites quiet contemplation, each mark and glint a subtle trace of time embedded by a sensitive eye of the period. The figurine could be displayed on a low sideboard or console in a living room, where it contrasts with pale marble or minimalist ceramics. It would also suit classic arrangements alongside framed Art Nouveau prints or lamps with gentle, diffused light, accentuating its organic forms and bronze depth. In a
