ABOUT PRODUCTID 5146
This neoclassical three-armed candelabrum, produced by the esteemed German manufacturer WMF at the end of the 19th century, exemplifies the era’s refined metalwork and elegant design. Crafted from white metal and brass, silver-plated, it boasts a cool, silvery tone with a subtle, satin sheen. The surface is adorned with a delicate guilloche pattern, adding depth and understated texture. The slender central column features baluster and urn motifs, supporting gracefully curved arms that end in stylized scrolls. The entire piece rests on three ornate feet shaped as chimeras, intricately detailed. The candelabrum’s arm section is detachable, allowing it to be used as a single candle holder. All construction elements are precisely executed, and the original WMF maker’s mark on the underside confirms its provenance. The candelabrum is in very good condition, with minimal traces of use, a nearly intact silver plating, and an authentic, original patina. The form of this candelabrum quietly evokes the late 19th century, when craftsmanship intersected with classical inspiration and everyday objects were expected to serve as discreet ornaments. Its slender proportions and harmonious composition recall the ambiance of Viennese salons and German residences, where candlelight would shimmer across silvered surfaces, casting gentle reflections on the walls. The fantastical chimera feet seem to whisper stories from mythology and bygone legends, reinforcing the object’s timeless spirit. This candelabrum could be paired with historical or contemporary furnishings, becoming a poised focal point on a refined mantelpiece or as a
