The chair stands on a four-spoke wooden base with original casters, while beneath the seat is the distinctive Hillcrest spring mechanism, marked ‘HILLCREST – REG’D TRADE MARK – MADE IN ENGLAND’. The lower edge of the backrest is accented by a row of decorative brass nailhead trim.
