ABOUT PRODUCTID 20670
This office chair, designed by Elmar Flötotto for Pagholz in 1960s Germany, exemplifies the modernist approach to function and form. The seat and backrest are crafted from high-pressure molded Pagwood plywood, featuring a pronounced wood grain in a deep, warm reddish-brown tone. The glossy lacquered finish highlights the natural texture of the material, while the smoothly curved, organically shaped shell with rounded edges offers ergonomic support and comfort. A robust, black matte cast iron base with five splayed legs on casters ensures stability and effortless mobility in a workspace. The central screw mechanism enables fluid height adjustment over a wide range (48–68 cm), making the chair suitable for both low and high desks. The proportions are compact (42 × 42 cm), and the overall design is minimalist, free from unnecessary ornamentation, in line with the spirit of mid-century modern. The chair is in very good vintage condition
