ABOUT PRODUCTID 18155
The 'Victoria' oil lamp, designed by Michael Bang for Holmegaard in 1967, is an exemplar of Scandinavian 1960s design. The body is made of hand-blown glass in a rich orange-red shade, its surface flawlessly smooth and lustrous, with a lacquer-like sheen. The rounded oil reservoir flows seamlessly into a stable cylindrical pedestal, demonstrating the balanced proportions and clean geometry typical of the period's modernism. At the top, a decorative brass burner features openwork detailing and a serrated adjustment wheel for the wick; the brass retains its authentic patina, with microperforations providing subtle reflective accents. Above the burner sits a tall, clear glass chimney with a straight cut and discreet etched markings. The original white glass shade, historically intended to diffuse the flame's light, is missing. No chips, cracks or repairs are evident on the glass, and only minor, age-appropriate wear can be seen on the brass elements. The condition is rated good – with glass free from scratches, gentle patina on the metal and no indications of later intervention. The lamp's form recalls
