ABOUT PRODUCTID 1775
This oriental cabinet from China, dating to the 1990s, exemplifies refined Far Eastern craftsmanship. Constructed from wood coated in a deep, lustrous red lacquer, its compact, rectangular proportions are accentuated by elaborately engraved brass fittings and corner protectors. The brass hardware includes a central lock plate and handles, all adorned with floral and cloud motifs characteristic of traditional Chinese decorative arts. The cabinet’s front doors feature rectangular inlays of jade or jade-like stone, each meticulously carved with botanical and geometric patterns in a milky white hue, providing a subtle contrast to the vivid red lacquer. Inside, there are small drawers lined with silk, offering concealed storage, while four bracket feet—also embellished with brass—anchor the piece. The cabinet is in excellent condition, showing no damage or restoration; the lacquer is even and glossy, and the brass has a gentle patina indicative of age and careful preservation. The cabinet carries the quiet voice of late 20th-century China, where the reverence for centuries-old craftsmanship met the modern sensibilities of a new era. Each surface, from the gleaming lacquer to the cool jade, recalls domestic spaces where symbolic motifs served as talismans of harmony and prosperity. The polished finish reflects light like a tranquil pond
