ABOUT PRODUCTID 19641
This sideboard from the 1950s, designed by Otto Wagner for Schwaco-Möbel-Werk (Herford, Germany), represents the essence of postwar German modernism. Crafted from solid teak and teak veneer, it features a warm medium brown tone with a distinct natural wood grain, highlighted by a semi-matte, satin-finished surface. The silhouette is long and slender, resting on four tapered legs that gently splay outward, creating a sense of visual lightness. The front is composed of two large sliding doors on the left and four horizontal drawers on the right, each fitted with subtly sculpted handles in darker wood that provide a discreet contrast. Precision joinery, with no visible external metal fittings, speaks to the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The structure feels sturdy, with proportions conducive to storing both large and small items alike. The surface shows minor signs of use—light scratches and small abrasions—typical for a vintage piece, but no major or distracting damage. Preserved in very good, original, unrestored condition.
