This oval crystal glass box, dating from the turn of the 20th century, exemplifies American decorative craftsmanship of its era. Made from pressed glass with high clarity and a cool undertone, it features a rich, geometric relief of raised diamonds and circular motifs that refract light and enhance the glass’s brilliance. The hinged lid is set in a silver-toned metal frame with a slightly aged, matte finish and a discreet patina, closed with a small clasp. The construction is solid, and the proportions are harmonious: its gently rounded form and balanced height (16 × 12 × 8 cm) make it both practical and decorative. The base is marked with a “B” signature, associated with the American manufacturer Brockway. The condition is very good: there are no chips or cracks, only minor traces of use and slight darkening of the metal, characteristic of an object of this age.Within the glass of this box, the spirit of the early 20th century is reflected—a period when ornamentation and craftsmanship were elevated to the level of applied art. The faceted surface scatters light into a multitude of shimmering reflections, evoking the ambiance of Edwardian parlors where every detail had its place and everyday objects were cherished for their artistry.
