The construction is based on a pronounced elliptical axis, with a sturdy build and a gentle patina that testifies to its age. The tray's mirror is adorned with intricate guilloché—a Greek key border frames the center, while delicate vegetal scrollwork weaves throughout, creating a rich ornamental composition. The rim features a pronounced, repoussé beaded border, lending the whole a rhythmic, neoclassical character. The handles, cast and attached with visible screws, are embellished with clasp motifs and vegetal scrolls typical of late 19th-century neoclassicism. The metal retains areas of soft sheen on the raised surfaces, while the central area shows subtle wear and tarnish, confirming the tray’s authentic age.
