The painting 'Two Peacocks' by Rajabu Chiwaya is a representative example of Tingatinga folk modernism from 1970s Tanzania. Executed in oil on board, the work measures 61 × 61 cm. The composition features two stylized peacocks presented symmetrically, their bodies forming large teardrop shapes filled with repetitive, multicolored almond patterns. The heads and necks of the birds are rendered in muted greens and browns, outlined in red and adorned with geometric, almost mask-like details. The peacocks are perched on a stylized tree with a dark brown trunk and branches, decorated with flat, rounded green leaves and yellow buds. On the left side, a subtle, almost misty tree in pale gray-green adds depth and contrast. The background is matte, pure white, highlighting the clarity of the forms and the saturation of the colors.
