ABOUT PRODUCTID 14470
This pair of armchairs, model 6952, was designed by Jaroslav Smídek for the Czech manufacturer TON in the 1960s, crafted in the Tyništé nad Orlicí factory. Each chair features a solid beech wood frame, finished by hand with a shellac polish in a warm, honey satin tone. The gently curved armrests and tapered legs exemplify mid-century modern aesthetics, while the overall simplicity and clarity of line reflect the era’s focus on balanced form and function. The seats are upholstered in high-quality Italian velour fabric—one in deep emerald green, the other in saturated navy blue—each with two contrasting light buttons on the backrest for a geometric accent. With dimensions of 84 cm high, 60 cm wide, and 73 cm deep, the chairs offer broad, deep seating and supportive, high backrests, designed for comfortable lounging. All stylistic elements remain faithful to the original, complemented by fully renewed upholstery and meticulously refinished woodwork. The chairs are in restored condition, showing no visible wear, damage, or patina, with an emphasis on authenticity and detail. These armchairs speak in the tone of Czechoslovak mid-century modernism: their restrained silhouette, fluid form, and subtle color pairing echo the optimism of postwar Central Europe. Raised on slender legs and smoothed to the touch, their presence
