ABOUT PRODUCTID 9474
This pair of armchairs, model 300-192, was designed by Juliusz Kędziorek in the early 1970s for the Gościcińska Furniture Factory, encapsulating the essence of Polish modernism from that era. The chairs feature a solid beech wood frame, stained in a deep rosewood tone and finished with a semi-matte lacquer that accentuates the natural grain. The outward-splayed legs lend both stability and visual lightness, while gently rounded armrests contrast with the sharper lines of the main structure. Upholstery is in a muted olive green corduroy, matte with a subtle ribbed texture; both the seat and backrest are adorned with a single decorative button. The low, wide proportions are characteristic of mid-century lounge furniture. These armchairs are in excellent condition, following comprehensive professional restoration of both woodwork and upholstery, with no visible signs of wear or damage. These armchairs reflect the voice of the 1970s: simplicity of form softened by the tactile detail, as if the furniture speaks of a time when functionality met everyday comfort. The olive green hue of the corduroy evokes a sense of domestic tranquility, while the ribbed texture under the fingers is a reminder that texture matters as much as silhouette. The beech wood, finished to a gentle semi-matte sheen, quietly alludes to the seriousness of craftsmanship and the belief that good furniture is made to last for decades. The armchairs can be paired with a low coffee table in dark wood or a minimalist sideboard, highlighting their modernist heritage. They would be equally at home in classic mid-century arrangements or in eclectic collector’s interiors—the olive corduroy complements natural wool, a thick-pile rug, or geometric-patterned curtains. Placing them where daylight can accentuate the wood grain and the green upholstery creates a calm backdrop will enhance their presence
