ABOUT PRODUCTID 17053
This pair of Art Nouveau wall sconces, dating from circa 1900, represent authentic early 20th-century European craftsmanship from Poland, rendered in substantial, patinated brass and copper. Each sconce features three elegantly spiraling arms, topped with candle-style E14 sockets, cleverly styled to resemble aged wax candles. The octagonal backplates, adorned with riveted and hammered details, accentuate the hand-forged quality and uniqueness characteristic of the fin de siècle. Pronounced ringed bobèches beneath each 'candle' add a subtle layer of historical detail, while the interplay of matte and satin finishes across the metal surfaces creates textural depth. All decorative and structural elements are original, with no visible traces of contemporary repair; discreetly updated wiring maintains period authenticity. The sconces are preserved in very good condition—minor discolorations, patina, and light wear are consistent with age and contribute to their collectible character.
