ABOUT PRODUCTID 10512
This pair of bar stools designed by Giandomenico Belotti for Alias was produced in Italy during the 1970s. The construction features a tubular chrome steel frame forming a stable sled base, characteristic of late modernist design. Seats and backrests are upholstered in natural leather finished in a cool, light grey tone with a subtle gradient, and the matte surface accentuates the tactile quality of the material. Clean lines and a lightweight, geometric silhouette evoke the late modernist aesthetic, while slender proportions and a gently contoured seat add comfort. Signs of use are visible: the leather shows scuffs and discoloration, and localized patina and minor corrosion appear on the chrome, especially at joints and lower sections. The stools retain their original components and display no major structural damage. Condition is good – with age-appropriate signs of wear and localized corrosion on the chrome. These stools embody the spirit of Italian 1970s design: modernist pragmatism meets a refined sense of materiality. The chromed steel frame reflects ambient light much like a contemporary interior, while the grey leather—gaining character over time—echoes the industrial rhythm of the era. Every detail, from the exposed welds to the gently curved sled base, speaks of a pursuit of balance between function and aesthetics
