ABOUT PRODUCTID 15545
This set of two Bauhaus wall lamps, model 13702, reflects the functional design language of Elektrosvit Nové Zámky from the 1940s. The lamps are crafted from ivory-hued bakelite, paired with elongated, matte-finished glass shades in a soft milky white. Their vertical, tapered silhouettes evoke the aerodynamic form of a water droplet—light is gently diffused, highlighting the subtle gloss of the glass and the understated matte of the bakelite base. Exposed mounting screws and a faint patina on the hardware emphasize Bauhaus’s deliberately utilitarian construction. The balanced proportions—30 cm in height and 9 cm in width—lend an authentic, cohesive presence. One lamp is reinforced with epoxy resin at the back, ensuring secure wall mounting without compromising the original appearance. Both are preserved in very good condition, displaying only the light wear consistent with age and material, with no major defects. These lamps capture the spirit of Central European modernism of the 1940s, when clarity of form and functional logic responded to the industrial demands of their era. The bakelite surface speaks of a time when innovative materials promoted accessibility and durability, and every line was a nod to practical purpose. The shades, like frosted mirrors, diffuse light with the quiet resolve typical of Bau
