This pair of bedside lamps, produced by Elektro-Rausendorf in Bautzen, East Germany in the 1970s, exemplifies lighting design where functionality meets the era's distinctive glasswork detail. Each lamp features a two-part shade: the lower section is crafted from ribbed, matte white glass, while the upper part is made from thick, pressed glass with a diamond-cut, crystal-like texture that creates a striking play of light. The transition from frosted white to clear, textured glass gives the lamps a sense of visual lightness. The metal bases, finished in a warm, aged brass tone, are slightly domed and fitted with a centrally placed white plastic rocker switch. Each lamp measures 22 cm in height, with a base diameter of 11 cm. They are fitted with E14 sockets and designed for bulbs up to 40W. Both lamps are in very good condition: the glass shades are free of damage, while the metal bases display natural patina and subtle signs of wear, reinforcing their authentic vintage character.These lamps evoke the voice of 1970s East German modernism: balanced proportions
