ABOUT PRODUCTID 2012
This pair of three-armed candlesticks, crafted in Poland in the 1920s, exemplifies mature Art Deco style in local metalwork. The solid brass construction reveals a warm, golden hue, enriched by a natural patina that lends depth and character. The predominantly matte finish is interspersed with subtle, natural gloss where the brass has been handled and gently polished over time. The form is distinctly geometric, anchored by a broad rectangular base with slightly upturned ends, from which three sweeping arms rise in elegant arcs. Each arm ends in a broad, shallow cup with a hammered surface, designed to reflect candlelight in lively patterns. The craftsmanship is precise, with seamless transitions between the arms and base, and well-executed soldered joints. These candlesticks speak with the voice of the 1920s modernist era: a balance of geometric discipline, architectural confidence, and the desire to unite art with everyday function. The brass, softly darkened in places, hints at a time when every detail was considered—here, even the hammered bowls play with light, evoking the ambiance of Art Deco interiors where candlelight accentuated linear forms. Their shape echoes the architectural logic of the period’s great cities—assertive yet light, poised to become the understated protagonists of an evening gathering. For arrangement, the pair could
