This pair of table candlesticks, produced by Norblin & Co. in Warsaw and dating to the 19th-century Tsarist era, exemplifies refined Polish silver-plated metalwork. Crafted from brass and finished with a high-quality layer of silver, their surface shimmers with a cool, mirrored lustre and a distinctly silvery tone. The design is rooted in harmonious proportions, featuring a slender baluster stem with a characteristic central swelling. The upper sections are adorned with a Greek key frieze, underscoring the neoclassical heritage, while the wide, domed bases ensure stability and are decorated with subtle engraved floral and scroll motifs. Original bobeches protect the table from dripping wax. The elliptical maker's mark with the inscription 'Norblin & Co. Galf. Warszawa' and the double-headed Tsarist eagle attests to the piece's prestigious recognition and high production standard.
