ABOUT PRODUCTID 23323
This vintage pair of cufflinks, attributed to Victor Janson and crafted in Sweden in 1962, exemplifies the clarity of Scandinavian mid-century modern design. Each cufflink features a compact, square silver frame with softly rounded corners and a matte, subtly oxidized finish. At the center sits a cabochon-cut tiger’s eye gemstone—rich, deep brown with golden chatoyancy—contrasting the understated silver setting. The construction is robust, with precise, visible soldering at the joints and a classic toggle fastening for ease of use. Proportions are balanced and compact (approx. 14.5 x 14.5 mm). The cufflinks are presented in a non-original octagonal box lined with golden-yellow satin and velvet, which shows gentle wear typical of its age. The cufflinks themselves are in very good condition, displaying minimal signs of use and no visible damage or repairs. These cufflinks echo the voice of their era, when Scandinavian modernism valued simplicity, noble materials, and artisanal precision. The matte silver and polished tiger’s eye conjure images of the 1960s, when jewellery was meant as an expression of individuality rather than overt ornamentation. They tell a story of a time when details were discreet yet carried a clear message—of a fondness for geometric order, harmony, and enduring craftsmanship. They could be paired with a classic white or light blue cotton shirt, letting the dark brown tiger’s eye catch the light at the cuffs. They work well alongside minimalist accessories—a leather-strapped watch, a simple silver band, or a plain tie. A wardrobe interior
