ABOUT PRODUCTID 32326
This pair of decorative glass pieces from Mdina Glass, Malta, dating to the 1970s, consists of a small vase and a basket, both hand-blown and crafted with distinctive fluid, organic forms. The vase features a deep cobalt base with undulating yellow and green bands, evoking the movement of waves and imparting a vivid sense of organic rhythm. The basket is formed from clear glass with gradients of blue and aquamarine, highlighted by swirling yellow-green accents; its handles are elegantly arched and seamlessly fused with the body. Both objects have substantial, heavy forms, with glossy, perfectly smooth surfaces marked by visible air bubbles and inclusions typical of artisanal glassmaking. A signature on the base of the vase confirms its authenticity and origin. Condition is excellent, with no chips, cracks, or signs of wear. The price refers to the entire set, which includes both pieces. These glass forms reflect the spirit of the Mediterranean coast: their palette and lines pulse with the rhythm of the sea and the southern sun. Created in an era when Maltese artisans were boldly experimenting with color and shape, the Mdina pieces capture the essence of the 1970s—fluid transitions and dynamic hues that recall sun-drenched days and the softened shadows along limestone walls. Each object feels like a fragment of landscape sealed in glass, as if a wave and a sunbeam were suspended within its mass. The set can be displayed on a low console made of light wood, where the depth of cobalt and blue will stand out against a neutral background. They pair well with minimalist ceramic sculptures or next to plants with soft green leaves, allowing the glass forms’ organic shapes to take center stage. Suitable for mid
