This pair of two-armed wall sconces from France, dating to circa 1900–1920, exemplifies the neoclassical style with distinct Empire influences. Crafted using fire-gilt brass casting, the sconces display a deep, warm antique gold tone with a subtle patina that highlights their age and authenticity. The central lyre motif is richly adorned with floral and foliate ornamentation, while the vertical ribbed element—possibly glass or polished metal—adds a refined accent. The arms curve gently outward, terminating in candle-style sockets with light cream sleeves that mimic wax drips, and the decorative drip pans reinforce the historical silhouette. The proportions are balanced and symmetrical, and the construction reveals a high level of craftsmanship. The sconces are compatible with E14 bulbs. Preserved in very good original condition, they show only minor signs of age-related wear typical for the period, with no visible restoration.
