This pair of wall sconces, designed by Helena Tynell for Limburg, exemplifies the refined aesthetics of 1960s and 70s German lighting. The shades are made of thick, clear pressed glass with a pronounced “bubble” texture, creating a prismatic play of light and emphasizing the geometric purity so characteristic of mid-century modern design. The glossy, three-dimensional glass surface contrasts with warm, satin-finished brass accents at the center and base. Proportioned at 20 cm in diameter and 12 cm in depth, these sconces have a distinct mid-century rhythm, and the absence of visible fixings further enhances the impression of visual clarity and lightness. Both sconces are preserved in very good condition: the glass is free from chips, cracks, or discoloration, and the brass shows only a subtle, even patina typical of vintage pieces.
