This pair of Italian glazed terracotta leopard sculptures was crafted in Italy during the 1960s. Each piece stands 60 cm high, 26 cm wide, and 36 cm deep, with a solid, heavy base ensuring stability. The leopards are depicted in a poised, seated position with open mouths, revealing sculpted teeth and pinkish-red tongues. Their coats feature a saturated yellow ochre base that transitions into creamy white across the chest and parts of the legs, hand-painted with black spots and subtle brown and orange accents around the face and ears. The glossy glaze brings a vibrant, lifelike quality, highlighting detailed modeling of musculature, paws, and especially the eyes. Each sculpture is labeled “made in Italy,” and natural variations in glaze and painting confirm the unique, handcrafted character.
